Audience Member I really wanted to like this movie. I am a big fan of Akira Kurosawa, who wrote this movie, and an even bigger fan of Toshiro Mifune. The cast was even rounded out with Kurosawa regulars Takashi Shimura, Minoru Chiaki, Daisuke Kato and Bokuzen Hidari and the premise of the movie was very promising. Unfortunately, the movie was convoluted and boring to an extent that made the movie difficult to finish. It seems that Director Kazuo Mori was not capable of filling the shoes of the mighty Kurosawa.
