      Audience Says

Anthony Hopkins and the rest of the cast are great, but Armageddon Time's story is slow and the ending is a major letdown.

Scott Tobias The Reveal (Substack) Armageddon Time is the rare case where the bitterness overwhelms sweetness, and true enlightenment comes from rejecting nostalgia at every turn. Rated: 4/5 Dec 19, 2022 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) Preteen drama is amplified by robust and fairly obvious musical choices, but more interesting is the sound design: the city is everywhere, grumbling and fractious, the sound of a short fuse burning out. Rated: 4/5 Nov 20, 2022 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) Gray’s latest, Armageddon Time, is a flawed work. But it sees the filmmaker at his most vulnerable, as he twists the camera back on himself and asks: of all the paths that brought me here, how many were carved out by my own privilege? Rated: 3/5 Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Juan Pablo Russo EscribiendoCine The connection between the past and the tumultuous contemporary times becomes undeniable, adding layers of meaning and demonstrating the director's ability to capture relevance in the essence of the past. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 6/10 Aug 8, 2023 Full Review Zach Pope Zach Pope Reviews I love this directors work and found the movie to be full of fantastic ideas & a slice of life film for touching on relationships of the youth. I just wish they would have doubled down on each one a bit more Jul 25, 2023 Full Review David Bax Battleship Pretension Gray appears to be making a big show of how bad he feels only so he can make a similarly big spectacle out of forgiving himself. uncledonnienyc Great .. very weak ending best wait till this comes out on Netflix Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/22 Full Review James M Would have liked a happier ending. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/20/22 Full Review janice h the ending could have been better. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/20/22 Full Review Lewis T powerful family drama with an all star cast. brilliant acting Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/19/22 Full Review SLED Well, I got a bit bored watching it. It reminded me more of the 70's not the 80's. We didn't have big, loud cars. They got much more smaller in the 80's. And the clothes did not look like that either. About the only thing I felt was correct was Reagan was president. I guess the east coast was much more different than the west coast was during that time. I was in my 20's so maybe that's why I felt it didn't reflect the 80's as I remember it Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/18/22 Full Review Claire The grandfather tells the boy to be a mensch, tell the truth and protect those in need. He doesn't, his privilege protects him. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/18/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
