Here's the problem: Bruce Campbell's character is a complete stiff, and so is everyone else he meets who isn't a special effect. The result is that we couldn't care less who wins any battle in the movie no matter how inventively photographed.

In my opinion, all three of the Evil Dead series were comedies but this third one was the best. First one was trying to be horror but I found it more humorous. The second one was pretty much a remake of the first but gave us a glimpse into the Ash we would all know and love in this third one. Army of Darkness shows how a horror/comedy should be done.
