In futuristic Metro City, a brilliant scientist named Tenma builds Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore), a robotic child with superstrength, X-ray vision and the ability to fly. Family Fun, but this updated version of Astro Boy was for kids and boring in most cases. Even for maybe a kindergarten or first grader it's a 7 out of 10. The animation style Imagi went with was right for the characters, not well for the plot. It's middle of the road for me even with a positive message.

I absolutely loved this movie as a kid! (Still do) I don't get the hate tbh. This got me into Astro boy and started the animated series. It's such a shame to hear the animation studios "imagi" shut down due to the failure of Astro boy 🙁. They were a really outstanding production studio. I hope we get more Astro boy media in near time, I'm getting tired of generic tv and movies.
