Something New had to re-establish all of the characters we've known so well and their relationships for it to make sense. Although they have quite different styles of acting, it was very easy to believe that this Aurora was the Ro we'd come to know.

They changed all the actors. Going back in time means we already know what happens with interpersonal relationships. Not nearly as good as the original. Hated it.

I thought this show was a great prequel to the original Aurora Teagarden Mysteries. Loved the new Aurora. There was something about the old one that was unlikeable. Sort of an arrogance. Hope this new one, with a younger actress will be a success.

I Prefer If the original cast was back on it. Young people suck at acting in this, you can already know what's coming, with Candice it really fools you until the end. Plus the lead sucks at acting or trying to be mysterious.

Poor Sally! The new actress playing her is very amateurish. She's self conscious and can't help turning her eyes toward the camera. Too much incompatibility of chemistry among the actors. Poor casting. Story had potential.

The new Aurora is less expressive and less engaging. The characters don't have the same level of engagement and enmeshment. Their reactions don't bounce off each other as smoothly. The rhythm of the scenes is more or less about the same, but there are nuances missing compared to previous Teagarden mysteries. The whole experience was flat.

I'm not sure… roe is taller and sally is short and the character of roe isn't near as quirky, kind of a drier movie in my opinion, maybe if they do another it will grow on me, but starting a movie series with new actors always feels meh to me at some level. It's just ok, wish it was more dynamic and with more intense suspense.
