David Stratton The Australian Run Lola Run meets Gran Torino; breathtakingly fast-moving, a very well-made thriller. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 22, 2017 Full Review Paul Byrnes The Age (Australia) [Bryan] Brown uses his capacity for stillness with great effect, to suggest weight in his character. Rated: 3/5 Sep 20, 2017 Full Review Eddie Cockrell Variety It holds a mirror up to contemporary Australian society and offers those unfamiliar with its tensions a relatively factual dramatic experience. Jul 4, 2017 Full Review Andrew F. Peirce The Curb Australia Day doesn't feel like it's a film that's actually got anything constructive to say. It wants to present a broken society by holding a mirror up to what's going on, ... but the mirror is shattered. Apr 4, 2020 Full Review Tara Judah Desist Film Taking one of the most loaded terms in Australian history as its titular provocation, Australia Day asks us to think about what one might be running towards - and whether ineffective systemic management of inbred injustice can amount to anything more... Jan 24, 2019 Full Review Matthew Toomey ABC Radio (Australia) This is a busy film... perhaps too much so. I like things "thick and fast" but with so many storylines, there's not a lot of time to question the actions of these characters. Rated: B- Oct 23, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Worst movie I have ever watched. The story line is provocative and wrong. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/01/24 Full Review chaban r Captivating from start to finish. A busy move with multiple story lines however each narrative has a reason to keep you hooked. A controversial yet honest insight into how some Australians experience Australia. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/24 Full Review Katie D Heart thumping, gut wrenching storyline's. Casting and acting is top notch. Absolutely recommend worth watching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/01/24 Full Review Audience Member Australia Day is a fine film which is presented in a great way. Like other critics, it is not a big box office, blockbuster film. Cleary went over my expectations, and it was worth watching. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed this movie. It was not a big box office type movie. It is an Australian TV style movie that is well worth watching. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of the best Australian films for years. Has the same kind of feel as Jindabyne. Taut acting and directing. Bang on visceral performances. Bryan Brown is at his best. Support cast are superb and believable. This film deals with the current racist conservative xenophobic backlash going on in this country. It’s like a new Romper Stomper for the 2000’s. It will be too close to the bone for a lot of One Nation supporters. Thank Vishnu Bryan Brown didn’t stay in Hollywood after Cocktail and continues to make such high quality films, instead of crap like Thor and The Avengers. 10/10 Bryan....keep it up mate! 53% rating? What rubbish! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
