Rated 3.5/5 Stars •  Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member 'Ayaalum Njanum Thammil' (Between me and him) 'Ayaalum Njanum Thammil' feels like a embroidery that is knotted with strings of personal discovery, the fervent results of which are intense. The narrative flip used in the film does not let the viewer relax or find a comfort zone. .The film examines how a profession considered to be noble is reduced to a money-minting machine, where rich parents can virtually buy a degree for their children and regain their investment in a few years. Jomon's camera loiters on the actors' faces a more than usual, to register an emotion and imprint it on the viewer's mind. Prithviraj has for a change kept his 6-pack body back home and come out with an outstanding display of subtle yet varied emotions, starting from a jolly good medical student and gradually changing into a glum physician only to be pulled back to his senses and responsibilities by the caring and fervent Prathap Pothen. Prathap Pothen looks supremely confident and carries his part effortlessly, He was living as Dr Samuel. The story is simple but highly sensitive and traces how a forced bond between the two doctors becomes highly rewarding to both. Ayalum Njanum Thammil has freshness about it, and appeals to the taste of the good film-goer. Brilliant cinematography by Jomon T John. The transformation of Ravi Tharakan to a great Doctor could have been shown more effectively including more sequences.
