This documentary chronicles St. Petersburg's world-famous Kirov Ballet as it prepares for a performance of "Swan Lake," and in particular young ballerina Altynai Asylmuratova's tireless preparation for the title role. Director Derek Hart is allowed an amazing and unprecedented look backstage at fiercely dedicated members of the troupe, which is composed of young, up-and-coming dancers, as well as performers entering the last phase of their careers.
