Officer Blanca Bravo (Ana de la Reguera) arrives in Juarez, Mexico -- a grim nexus of corporate colonialism and sexual tourism -- to investigate a rash of killings targeting female migrant workers. A good performance by Ana de la Reguera. Good that it focuses attention on the still unsolved Juarez murders. Jimmy Smits' role was disappointing. Atmospheric scenes of the Mexican desert. Unfocused but earnest. Several subplots don't quite come together, which is appropriate since the murders have no Hollywood ending.
