Audience Member Loved watching the movie...mystic and surprisingly calming in its own way..very well edited especially considering Hindi movies and their ways of stretching out everything...good performances...Urmila did a very good job Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Although the first 20 minutes or so is a little hard to get into, once you do get into it, you're held there for the rest of the film, unble to break away from this powerful story of love between people of two different social classes. New complications arise in fluent succession and there are so many of them, you'll wonder how it's even possible. Some of the camerawork makes it a bit harder to digest - what with its constant zooming mid-shot - but otherwise this makes for gripping viewing. See this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful love story surrounded by an excellent phylosophical exploration of faith, centering mostly around Buddhist and Hindu beliefs but with many ideas and attitudes which could easily be applied to any belief, religious or otherwise, as well as exploring India's caste system and social and class divides, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Varanassi and Sarnath. A fantasticaly written film with some very beatiful music. It has the occasional cheezy moment, but over all this is a beautiful film and very much worth the watch! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member this is a very good movie, a very good love story of the higher power. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member An absolutely beautiful film, with a very deep spritual - but not specific to a particular religion - undertone. The love story is heartwrenching, and wonderful - atypical of big-budget Bollywood, and the philosophy leaves your mind whirring. The only drawback is that, although the film deals frankly with the class system, it fails to present an real view of India. It's highly polished (you can see the streets have been scrubbed in closeups), and lacks the smog and rubbish that litter the cities. Still, given this is not integral to the messages of the film, and could arguably interfere with the delivery of some, it can be forgiven. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member An enlightening movie along wiv spiritual songs. The city of Banaras is beautiful!
