Overall the teenage relationships aren't really delineated, a moralistic twist near the end appears out of nowhere, as does the sudden, unrealistic pairing-up of two of the main characters that gives the film the justification for its subtitle.

In a lot of ways this movie comes off as an over-the-top, MTV-meets-P*rnhub parody of French youth culture. But there's a real story here, and while it doesn't always make sense, it's all strangely relatable and engaging. It's a unique film, and I liked it.

Some terrific performances can't get this one over the usual hump: it's not as important as insightful as it thinks it is. As a naturalistic snapshot of some kids and their emotions, it does well enough, but the ending snaps off the events we've seen like a bit of Lego, and it's both unconvincing and makes one wonder what the point of the exercise has been.
