Audience Member Seems they weren't neighborly enough for him. Gene Autry is brought into a cattle town that is plagued by barbed wire that makes trading cattle limited, which is the town's main source of income; meanwhile, some are trying to rid the countryside of its landowners so they can run train tracks through town. Gene will hunt down the people making decisions to keep the town poor and make the rich richer. "That 'K' does look a little off center." John English, director of Valley of Fire, Silver Canyon, Whirlwind, The Hills of Utah, Mule Train, Murder in the Music Hall, Don't Fence Me In, and Dead Man's Gulch, delivers Barbed Wire. The storyline for this picture is cliché and fairly straightforward. The action is very mediocre and the cast delivers mediocre performances. The cast includes Gene Autry, Champion, Gail Davis, Jock Mahoney, and Steve Darrell. "I came here broke and I can stay that way." This was recently recommended to me by Fios so I had to DVR it. The premise sounded like it had potential but it ended up being fairly cliché from the action, to the script, to the acting...disappointing. Overall, this is only worth watching for diehard western or Autry fans. "On guard!" Grade: C Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
