What to Know

Critics Consensus

Baseketball isn't just a succession of fouls thanks to the comedic zip of David Zucker's direction, but sophomoric gags and a lack of performance hustle by Trey Parker and Matt Stone makes this satire a clumsy bunt.

Stephen C Funny in 1 hour and 43 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USA grossed over $7,000,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Kevin P A slightly dated, but funny 90's time capsule that's elevated by a young Trey Parker and Matt Stone's impeccable onscreen chemistry and improv skills. The comedy is mostly solid, with so many details and gags going on in the background of every scene. The slapstick and grossout humor is a bit hit-or-miss, but luckily the misses aren't too low and the rapid-fire pacing keeps the laughs going. The story is pretty typical for a sports film, but there's some good commentary in the opening about modern sport teams roaming across the states for money. The soundtrack is a great stack of late 90's grunge and ska pop. It's no South Park or Book of Mormon, but BASEketball is funnier than you'd think and worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/09/25 Full Review Benjamin S A silly yet wonderful movie that acts as a timecapsule for a era where you could make juvenile slap stick jokes into movies, and people would love it.
