matthias s "The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1" is a brilliant animated movie that captures the essence of Frank Miller's iconic graphic novel. The animation is superb, with the dark, brooding Gotham City serving as a perfect backdrop for the story. The voice acting is top-notch, with Peter Weller delivering a convincing performance as an aging Bruce Wayne. The supporting cast also shines, with Ariel Winter as a young Carrie Kelley and David Selby as Commissioner Gordon. The plot is captivating, exploring the themes of aging, redemption, and the cost of vigilantism. The story follows a retired Bruce Wayne as he dons the Batman costume once again to save Gotham City from a rising threat. The character development is excellent, with Bruce Wayne struggling with his aging body and questioning whether he can still be a hero. The relationship between Bruce and Carrie is also compelling, with the young Robin serving as a beacon of hope for the aging hero. The action sequences are intense and well-choreographed, showcasing Batman's skills as a fighter and detective. The film's pacing is also excellent, with the story moving at a brisk pace, never leaving the audience bored. "The Dark Knight Returns: Part 1" is a fantastic movie that sets the stage for an epic conclusion. It is a must-watch for fans of Batman and fans of animated movies in general. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/09/23 Full Review Earl J It was an interesting take Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/23 Full Review Carl J the war goes on.. and the legends never die !! Hands down one of the best batman movies I have ever watched. Idk where to start lol, I mean can't really describe it with the vocabulary i know. It basically got everything, sick action scenes, basically what fans want; Batman with his detective, fighting, smart skillset, though after this movie you're gonna love him more!! , back to the thing.. it got supes, got politics, some nice villains, Robin (i love her), great plot and dialogues, I mean you could just keep going on.. It got some of the best adaptations of the dark knight, different experiences he goes through, the relationship he builds with Robin, still stands strong at 55,... Heck even the side characters got so much fun through the course of the movie, it's like they aren't their to just fill some plot but got an existence of their own. Congratulations to the team that brought us this great adaptation and I hope that this is just the first of many that can be brought to the screen... Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand It would take a far more daring approach to really do justice to Millers groundbreaking work, which is defined as much by his graphic design as by his writing, but this is at the very least interesting and at best unexpected.
