Kaaapowie! Holy feature film, Batman ... one based on the tongue-in-cheek, campy 1960's television series. Watch Batman (Adam West) and Robin (Burt Ward) battle sharks, Catwoman, The Joker and The Riddler on the big screen. Can they try to prevent the bad guys from taking over the world? With a wham! and a pow! and a zip! ... our heroes just might win.

Critics Consensus

Batman: The Movie elevates camp to an art form -- and has a blast doing it, every gloriously tongue-in-cheek inch of the way.

Variety Staff Variety Batman is packed with action, clever sight gags, interesting complications and goes all out on bat with batmania: batplane, batboat, batcycle, etc. etc. Jul 22, 2008 Full Review Time Out I'd choose Adam West's Batmobile over Michael Keaton's any day. Jan 26, 2006 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand ... fans of the small screen show will enjoy the spoofing tone throughout. Leslie H. Martinson directs Lorenzo Semple’s screenplay like a big budget TV episode minus the cliffhanger endings. Dec 3, 2022 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault As you’d expect, this movie is as dumb as a box of hair, but God, is it fun — a perfect guilty pleasure. Rated: B Aug 30, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Clearly intended to appeal only to longtime fans of the series, which has done much to make the Dark Knight and his Boy Wonder sidekick cartoonish caricatures rather than earnest crime-fighters. Rated: 6/10 Aug 29, 2022 Full Review Cory Woodroof Lumination Network While it's hilarious to watch the cheesiness of the film, it's also interesting to see how far Batman has come from the sixties. Matt O “Campy charm that’s hard to resist” – 3/5 The 1966 Batman is pure camp and cheesy fun. It doesn’t take itself seriously at all, which can be a breath of fresh air if you’re in the mood for something light and nostalgic. The bright colors, over-the-top villains, and silly one-liners make it a goofy ride that’s easy to enjoy. It’s definitely dated and won’t satisfy anyone looking for a serious superhero flick, but if you’re up for some classic, quirky entertainment, it’s worth a watch. Just don’t expect a deep Batman story here. This is how Batman started though so you have to respect it Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/22/25 Full Review Audience Member NUNCA RI TANTO, o filme em si é ruim, mas por ser ruim fica genialKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/25 Full Review Ben W No option to delete. Just put stars in middle, sorry. 14th Sept 2024ce. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Carston M This movie is very outdated but in a sort of way that makes it better than several other newer Batman movies. Adam West and Burt Ward act in such a way that makes this movie a classic. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review David C Los efectos son buenos para ser de 1966 la historia es buena, chistosa y divertida Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Rami A It may not have aged well, but it certainly was great for its time.
