Larry H Compelling narrative of our time - Ms. Graham rising to leadership upon her husband's death, hard decisions to publish against a powerful, vindictive executive (Nixon), reminder of the value of the press in holding government accountable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/19/25 Full Review Jacquelyn J fantastic! i have a new hero. but i'm incredibly disappointed that her influence in watergate has not been celebrated - certainly not surprising in a world full of "isms" Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review Ted L "Becoming Katherine Graham," a new documentary film has just been released for viewing on Netflix. Covering the years from her childhood in a wealthy Washington family through her years as, first, the wife of a family newspaper publisher, she inherited the job of publisher, due to his early suicide. As she grows in confidence, she directs the growth of The Washington Post with courage and fortitude. Her years as publisher were filled with questions from the public and her staff as to whether she had the capacity to run the paper, to reaching her height during the Watergate Papers era and the impeachment of Richard Nixon. The film is filled with archival films as well as contemporary remembrances of her strength and character. The film seems particularly timely, because of the current president who surpasses the evil of Richard Nixon, while having less capacity to do a good job, even if her wanted to. This is a don't miss documentary! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/04/25 Full Review dave b Excellent. A strong woman. A formative character in American history.
