Hae-won (Seong-won Ji) is a woman on the edge: a series of incidents at work earn her a forced "vacation," but when she travels to a remote island from a childhood visit, at the urgent request of her friend Kim Bok-nam (Yeong-hie Seo), she has no idea what devils of the past are waiting. Moo-do Island is an unpleasant place to visit, and you definitely don't want to live there. Bok-nam is crumbling under a weight of violence, sexual menace, and fear -- with no means of escaping her tormentors. The vengeful rage that waits inside her is growing, and her sanity shredding. If Hae-won can't help her escape, she may have to take matters into her own hands, once and for all.

Boyd van Hoeij Variety Too arty for K-horror buffs and too grisly and nonsensical for world-cinema aficionados. Oct 19, 2021 Full Review Anton Bitel Little White Lies It is this contrast between the two women that energises Bedevilled, a character-driven slowburner that builds ever so deliberately to its murderous climax. Feb 2, 2011 Full Review Scott A. Johnson Dread Central Do not go in expecting feel-good emotions, a typical slasher, or even to not be offended. This movie will make you angry. Period. But it also pays off cinematic gold. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 19, 2021 Full Review Peter Martin ScreenAnarchy As a first-time director, Jang builds the atmosphere and mood in an unusual way. Jurena I love psychological movies, but this one made me close my eyes, clinch my fists, and hug my pillow. Acting is 💯 good! Story is genius. DEFINITELY MUST WATCH! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/23 Full Review sean s Basically, this is a sad story about friendship, abuse, betrayal and revenge. It is very well done and one of the better movies that I have seen in awhile. I would not want to watch this again though, because it is too uncomfortable; but it feels very authentic, except that bad people rarely seem to get what is coming to them in life from my experience. That is the crazy fantasy element of it, but, none the less, it is an interesting movie and worth a watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great revenge film! The acting (especially from Seo Young-Hee) is extraordinary!! The scenery and photography is beautiful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member "Bedevilled" is brutal, exaggerated and doesn't have the most satisfying ending. It is still pulsating and energetic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review nilufer e It was dark and brutal as I like but it started so late in the movie but the messages were there and I just couldn't keep my eyes off of the screen. That was a good drama / thriller there. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great storytelling and the kind of movie that kicks you in the gut over and over again.
