Been So Long is a British musical about a single mother who is reluctant to date and open her heart after being hurt in the past. The story was okay, but it was very predictable and did not bring anything new to the genre. The music was on par with a Disney original movie, in terms of creativity and composition. Overall, this is a lackluster musical that is not essential viewing.

LOVED IT!!!! Been So Long is amazing!!!!!! My housemates and I have now watched it several times and can't stop humming its tunes around the flat. We love everything about it. From the incredible cast, its beautiful photography and hit tunes... we laughed and cried throughout, it's so good and finally brings a film with decent diversity and honesty to the table. I am excited that Netflix took up this musical and can't wait to see more, BSL 2?!?!? A definitive MUST WATCH

This musical is one of the most cringeworthy movies I've ever seen. It's extremely amateurish, like a student film, and there is no chemistry between the ill-chosen cast. I wonder why the critics gave it so much praise?

this movie really surprised me by how genuinely great it was. the story is delightful and the romance really worked for me. the main characters are all crafted beautifully and where all likeable in there own way. this is just a great movie and the best Netflix has done in ages.
