For what it is- a low budget, stupid beer and softball comedy starring stand up comedian Artie Lange, and Ralph Macchio on the downside of his career, it is pretty good. There are some very laughable moments, despite the fact that it has many flaws. The movie is set around themes that Lange is an expert in- sports and sex. There are some surprising cameos in this one, including Tina Fey, Laurie Metcaff, and Seymour Cassel. It's almost hard to understand how they ended up in this one, except for Lange's charm. The movie is not politically correct, but otherwise it has stood the test of time better than Lange has.

I love this film. It's funny as hell!!! I've seen it several times. Perhaps the greatest slow pitch softball movie ever made. I realize it doesn't seem to have universal appeal as the other reviews here but if your an adult Man who's played in a slo-pitch league, you will LOVE it

Besides the seldom moment of wit, Beer League comes off as a B-list entourage of the SNL casting couch making a slightly more adult version of Bad News Bears....because that's kinda what it is.
