Roger Kabler has crafted something very brave here. No question Kabler is an exceptional impressionist and his characterization of Robin Williams is brilliant, uncanny. Any one of us whose heart was broken by Williams' death would hope for a chance to experience his dazzling talent just one more time. But that's not the only reason to see this film.
Kabler's willingness to allow us into the private spaces of his psyche and creative process is generous and is key to appreciating the full breadth of Being Robin. It takes an incredible amount of vulnerability to divulge the personal tug-of-war within, as well as the consequential fallout with one's romantic partner. Kabler brings us along as he wrestles with reality -- even as he talks with his psychiatrist and a dubious psychic -- and we ask ourselves the same questions he asks himself. Is Kabler channelling the spirit of the late Robin Williams, which at times he seems to believe? Or is he having a psychotic episode?
At times, the raw footage -- much of it from live performances -- is shaky, which is a powerful effect in illustrating the unsettling nature of the dilemma, and also serves as a metaphor for mental illness and grief.
Kabler's honesty in accounts of losing his Hollywood career to addiction and mental illness, his anguish in developing this journal or angst and art, and his offering it to the world is a model of sharing experience, strength and hope -- an appropriate triad for living an authentic artist's life.

A one man band so to speak! The work Roger has put into this movie is incredible, it’s hard to distinguish between Robin and Roger! If you are not familiar with bipolar (hate to say disorder) you will relate to the humanity and message in this movie!

What the performer Roger Kabler has done with this role is nothing short of miraculous. He BECOMES Robin Williams, which is both a remarkable performance and the entire point of this amazing film. Yes, Being Robin might be a little rough around the edges, but in my opinion, that only adds to the authenticity of the film, and is far more satisfying than any polished bio-pic.

Ill say this first. I am a long time fan of Robin Williams to begin with. I have loved his movies and stand up always. Losing him as an entertainer was a massive loss. A huge bummer for sure.
Fast forward to recent times. I find Roger on Facebook, I am an entertainer, A musician, and actor of sorts myself. I see a post of this guy one day on Face Book, I am immediately stunned by the clip I see, it is him channeling robin, a short clip about this film. From that point I start following him and his marketing of this movie. The whole time watching more and more people commenting and discovering this wonderful guys talent and story.
I message him one day saying how awesome everything I am seeing is and how awesome his story is, and how I am now a fan and support him. He actually responded to my message and we have been in contact ever since.
I have had special access to the movie and I will say, It is truly in my opinion, brilliant. The whole story, his story of being visited by Robins spirit, and of him channeling Robin the way he did, which I believe he really felt this was the case, Is a must see and well worth listening to this mans telling of what he experienced. I felt I was truly seeing Robin through much of the film. Awesome.
Thank you Roger for sharing your story with me, fan, and friend for life.
Respect.

When he flips the switch, Roger IS Robin Williams incarnate. Touching, moving, thought-provoking, you really feel like you are watching Robin come back to life. Which is, of course, its plot line. This needs to be seen by all.
