Nell Minow Movie Mom A remarkably smart, funny, brave, and heartfelt first feature film -- Bakke has a sharp eye but a warm heart and a refreshing honesty. Rated: B+ Sep 30, 2014 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times A smart, sly comedy about what its director, Will Bakke, calls "the power of platforms," "Believe Me" parodies the machinery of faith-based fund-raising with its heart on its sleeve and its jokes above the belt. Sep 25, 2014 Full Review Josh Kupecki Austin Chronicle What is most egregious, and seems completely lost on the filmmakers, is that the film is the very thing it attempts to expose: a pandering cash-in on faith-based films disguising itself as an honest examination of belief. Rated: 1/5 Sep 25, 2014 Full Review Kip Mooney College Movie Review The best part about Believe Me is that it never, ever gets preachy, even when characters are literally giving sermons. Rated: A- Aug 31, 2021 Full Review Megan Basham WORLD I give Bakke and crew credit for trying and, on most counts, succeeding to bring something new and entertaining to the table. Mar 21, 2018 Full Review Jeanne Kaplan Kaplan vs. Kaplan The screenplay is lacking in conviction from any angle. Oct 12, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member For a Christian film, this one was actually funny. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member In a genre where cliches are a norm, Believe Me provides an honest look into the Christian movie industry. Unafraid to tackle topics like cash-based ministries, Believe Me was a witty, smart and necessary film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The actors make the movie enjoyable but I wouldn't watch it again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member honestly, i loved it. it was a great time to laugh at myself and it really made me think. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Let's steal a shit ton of money from gullible Christians in the name of charities. Sure! Why the hell not? As someone who: 1) is an atheist and 2) spent some time living in a Christian household who regularly goes to the church, I loved how it playfully mimicked Christians behavior. It's an average comedy drama with a formulaic storyline. It plays very safe, but it has some really good laughs. Believe Me is predictable, but not an awful movie. Generic, unmemorable, but funny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member It has clever things to say about America's culture of faith and is full of humor for those familiar with the church scene.
