larrykohut L Belly of the beast starring Steven seagul . Is about a guy on his way to retirement. But one day his daughter is kidnapped by a bunch of mobsters along with one of her female friends. And so he's told by cops that they will handle the situation. But he decides to take matters into his own hands . He wants to rescue his daughter and so he does just that . He does have help in the movie by a foreign dude and he does run into his girlfriend a few times in this movie. The pacing in this movie is done well and the acting is pretty good. For a 2003 film. A father willing to stop at nothing but to take out the bad guys and save his daughter. It's a good action movie. Ignore what rotten tomatoes says here 35 percent out of 100 . Well I give it a 70 out of 100. Parents guide/ Christian perspective Violence: very strong violence includes punching and kicking . Several scenes of gun fire and shooting at each other. Even a sword fight at the end of the film. Language: 2 gds said, multiple f words, s word said a few times and damn . Sex/ nudity :light .one sex scene where he sleeps with his girlfriend but it's brief and the camera cuts away to the next scene. Brief nudity shown from his girlfriend in this movie. Her breasts can be seen briefly. Drug references : none Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review William D One of the worst movies I have ever seen and has ever been made. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review isa e Action heroes should not waddle, it shouldn't wiggle when you giggle , bizarrely haphazard script , plot barely coherent Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Very basic, cookie-cutter kidnapped daughter movie. Essentially, one after another of martial arts and gun fight scenes, without much of anything in between. But, there are a lot of fight scenes and the choreography is bad. Seagal's style of movie martial arts just is not very entertaining. Couple that with all of the ridiculous flying backwards when the get hit and crashing into furniture scenes, and the fighting sequences are laughable. It's just another in a long list of his bad movies. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This is actually not as bad as i was expecting but i only watched it as my friend gave it to me to laugh at! Seagal looks fat and old and the slo-mo close ups of him show his jiggling belly. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent little Steven Seagal direct-to-video film is helped by having a Hong Kong action director and stunt crew who manage to make the now rather anemic fighting by this film's star more exciting. I will readily admit to being a fan of Seagal and have a morbid fascination with his onscreen persona as the soft spoken Buddhist who then unleashes bone breaking fists of fury at a moments notice (he doesn't seem to do kicks anymore). The story has Seagal as an ex-CIA agent rescuing his kidnapped daughter. It's not exactly "Taken" but director Ching Siu Tung and his stunt team manage to put enough sound and fury around Seagal to make this film a bit more exciting than most of Seagal's direct-to-video output. According to IMDB, the director chose to shoot most of the action scenes without Seagal and then add him in later. Seagal did not care for this and made a stink, resulting in the director and his stunt crew walking off the set, but producers apparently convinced Seagal to go along with it, which I think resulted in a better film. He's that annoying uncle who never stops borrowing money. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 1, 2004 Full Review Read all reviews
