Gunn W How exciting can a movie be when the entire story is in a basement? BORING! You only see a freezer, a dissection room, and hanging pigs. Although the problem is - what part of the story is the BOOK, or which is REAL LIFE? I realize, when the guy is wearing the red plaid shirt, he's in the story - and when he is wearing the hoodie, this is real life... but... they keep rewriting the book, changing the story. So, is Person X alive in the real world, or is Person X dead in the book? Did they resurrect him like Jesus, or just done with a pen (computer and later an old-school non-electric typewriter). The end of the movie (or the book, not sure) was kind of funny, especially if it was done in the real world. But, I wouldn't watch this snooze fest just to find out the conundrum at the end. Just not worth it! SKIP THIS ONE!!!!! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This film started out a bit slow but the development of the story along with Edward Furlong's acting and ability to get you to care about the character almost makes it addicting to finish! A really well made thriller with an ending that I didn't see coming. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Below Zero led me to have some thoughts. I wondered to myself: "I believe a straightforward good movie is better than a complex bad movie. But is a complex bad movie better than a straightforward bad movie?" I ruminated upon this over Below Zero's 100 minute run time, and you know what? I'm kinda thinking yeah, maybe it is better. It's still bad though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member good movie some grooves and twist but overall very good Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I love the twist at the end! Since I'm a writer, I loved it! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite some hackneyed acting from Edward Furlong, Below Zero is surprisingly good. Very multi-layered about a screenwriter locking himself in a freezer in a slaughterhouse writing a story about a screenwriter locking himself in a freezer in a slaughterhouse. The story goes deep and we see the story being written and re-written as it goes. Anyway, this is a great movie, with a very satisfying end.
