Audience Member True indie with a great premise and not handled in a an obvious or heavy-handed way Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Andrew Wright has created a very original piece of film making, anchored with highly creative screenwriting, solid acting, and excellent work behind the camera (big shout out to DOP Voitek Pendrak) and in visual effects, not to mention his eclectic soundtrack (including EDM tracks Wright wrote himself). This little gem will take you on a continuous, drug-infused trip (make that multiple trips), interspersed with several dark humor moments, and under a sci-fi/futuristic umbrella. It's a fine testament to what you can achieve when you have a dream and a vision, even when working with a tiny budget, and a reminder to everyone to support independent filmmakers and what they can bring to enrich our cultural lives. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member "Belushi's Toilet" is a brilliantly conceived film set in a near-term future in which the war on drugs has finally been declared a loss; everything and anything is now legal. On the low-down, pharmaceutical company brew master Mason responds to those conditions by attempting to craft the ultimate drug experience. It'll require human testing, so for the greater good, Mason and his mates step in to fill the traditional role of lab rats. It's a fantastic and unexplored premise made fully realized by great storytelling, as "Belushi's Toilet" shrewdly avoids the trap of taking sides and moralizing, and instead projects this free-form world of all-legal drugs as a logical inevitability of existing trends. Melding science fiction with our love of drug culture explorations, "Belushi's Toilet" offers the best of both worlds by creating one that's entirely its own. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member truly original, with great character development, a dark comedy that i am surprised has not gained a cult following. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A crazy fun journey. This indie took me on a ride. I did not know what to expect going into the film but I was kinda glad I didn't. The story is very large. They take some risks with the filming and the way they portray drugs in the film and I loved being able to see that. They are also some very deep thoughts along the way. It feels like it drops in and the audience is allowed to breath and then in the next scene we are back on the run. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
