David Mattin BBC.com The Benchwarmers is better than it should have been. Only, that's not saying much. Rated: 2/5 Jun 6, 2006 Full Review Damon Wise Empire Magazine Even Jon Lovitz with a Batmobile, a dwarf attack in a playroom, and David Spade's best wig ever can't save this mawkish misfire. Rated: 1/5 Jun 2, 2006 Full Review Trevor Johnston Time Out Just when the baseball slapstick starts wearing thin, a final-reel gush of truly cynical sentiment on behalf of the physically challenged sends the ordeal-factor off the scale. Jun 1, 2006 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It takes a very special person to enjoy The Benchwarmers. I am such a person. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 2, 2020 Full Review Alberto Abuín Espinof A very bad movie and that unfortunately will raise enough money at the box office to continue financing this kind of nonsense. [Full Review in Spanish] Feb 12, 2020 Full Review Simon Weaving Screenwize In the last line of the film, as the final credits thankfully disappear, Richie casually says "that was a waste of time wasn't it?" Yes. Definitely. Rated: 1/5 Oct 10, 2009 Full Review Read all reviews

Stephen C Funny in 1 hour and 25 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated PG-13 for Language and Crude and Suggestive Humor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USA grossed over $57,700,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/13/25 Full Review Farah R The Benchwarmers feels like it was made by a twelve year old with its silly and gross humor. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/18/25 Full Review Jay W This is your typical Happy Madison Productions comedy. It has some of Adam Sandler's crew of funny people who make some fun jokes. It is a quick, under 90-minute runtime. It has its fair share of low brow easy potty jokes. The charm comes from the bizarre characters these comedians are playing, but that is likewise it’s negative. These characters are so out there, that there is no way they could possibly exist. One grabs a burning hot potato and just holds onto it screaming. He has also somehow made it to 30 and has never spoken to a female. In the end, I can't get behind the main crux of the film. Simply put, kids who aren't good at baseball, don't want to play baseball. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review Brandi W I don’t understand the bad reviews! This movie is an all time favorite!!!! I love it so much and so do the kids ! The acting is amazing and the jokes hit every time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/25 Full Review Audience Member What were the critics smoking when they reviewed this? Do they not like baseball or comedy? It does both really well! Rob Schneider, David Spade, and Jon Heder are so funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
