Peter Debruge Variety Without wandering far from the tried-and-true formula, director Brandon Camp (son of "Benji" creator Joe Camp) brings a measure of style and competence to the project that the franchise has never seen. Mar 18, 2018 Full Review Matt Fagerholm RogerEbert.com This 2018 release feels like it arrived fresh from 1974, and that is what makes it a delight. Rated: 3/4 Mar 16, 2018 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Pretty underwhelming, a perfunctory kids-and-their-dog caper that despite running less than 90 minutes feels stretched to its limits. Mar 15, 2018 Full Review Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Updated dog tale has realistic peril and violence. Rated: 3/5 Mar 27, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Perhaps nostalgia is enough to engage, but "Benji" doesn't seem vital enough to revisit, especially when The Camp Corporation has nothing new to offer. Rated: D+ Mar 21, 2018 Full Review Betty Jo Tucker ReelTalk Movie Reviews Too bad there's no Oscar for Best Animal Performance of the Year. Benji would win hands -- er paws -- down. Shiraz Q Wonderful, sweet movie with amazing acting by Benji. I loved the Benji movies when I was little and this is a worthy successor. I said "awwww" and "oh no!" so many times while I was watching, I was very invested. (And so frustrated with the stupid people for not listening to Benji.) If you want some wholesome family entertainment, this is it. The people wailing that it was too traumatic for their kids are lunatics. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review Taylor T It's a good movie with a cute storyline Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Arianna S My son, 6, loves this film so much, we keep watching it. It's a very good. Hoping it will have a comeback like some do. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The kids in the movie were really annoying. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed this movie A fun family movie. And one of the only movies where I noticed my pet dog actually getting excited every time I put it on. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Reverse M Gabriel Bateman made me cry, it's less than 90 minutes long, No CGI and multiple dog actors. What else could I ask for?
