In this musical comedy, English miner Bert Rigby (Robert Lindsay) wants nothing more than to be a huge star like his idols Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Finally, Bert journeys to Hollywood, Calif., to see if he can make his dreams come true. Fame doesn't come easily, however. He gets a job as the butler to a bigwig movie producer, Jim Shirley (Corbin Bernsen), and gets involved with Shirley's insatiable wife, Meredith (Anne Bancroft). But Bert needs to stay focused if he wants to make it.
