Brilliantly edited, Between the Shades orchestrates a series of interviews showcasing the astonishing diversity within the LGBTQ community. Filmmaker Jill Salvino weaves a narrative of love and perseverance using the emotive quality of personal storytelling. The raw quality of personal narrative, with it's roller coaster of emotion, truly define what it means to be different.

I loved 'Between the Shades.' It's one of those rare documentaries that's riveting, enlightening and informative, as well as highly entertaining. The director, Jill Salvino, was able to establish an excellent rapport with the participants so that the interviews reveal unique stories of fears, struggles, hopes, celebrations and triumphs. I thoroughly enjoyed 'Between the Shades,' exploring all differences within the LGBTQI community, and highly recommend the film.
