In BETWEEN THE TEMPLES, Ben (Jason Schwartzman) is a forty-something cantor losing his voice and possibly his faith. Struggling to meet the expectations of his rabbi, congregation, and not one but two Jewish mothers (Caroline Aaron and Dolly De Leon), Ben finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as an adult bat mitzvah student. This warm and anxious comedy from prolific writer/director Nathan Silver explores the complexities of belief, connection, and what it means to be a real mensch.

If you thought Nobody Wants This was the raciest religion-infused rom-com of 2024 or Nicole Kidman had cornered the cougar market, just wait until you see Nathan Silver’s provocative tale that’s more Harold and Maude than Family Affair’s Brooke and Chris. Go to Full Review

12/18/2024 Off beat and delightful See more 09/22/2024 Shameful, quite possibly the worst movie I ever saw. Do not waste your time & money. How could they have ever made such a horrible movie. Not 1 positive comment to make. See more 09/21/2024 thoroughly enjoyed this original entertaining film. Saw it twice. See more 09/21/2024 One of the worst movies I have ever ever seen! It was very disjointed, took a while before I realized what was going on. It started with the candle, wearing his totally, and running through the street, which is a total disrespect, and never would happen in real life. Horrible horrible, horrible movie. If I could get a refund for the four of us I would. I would never recommend it to anyone.
