... uses San Francisco locations with some skill, and has a very powerful shock moments, one involving toys coming to life. The opening narration, by the Devil, of course, is pretty chintzy, but there’s plenty for genre connoisseurs to enjoy...

Weird and creepy throughout, Beyond the Door's absurd dialogue and period kitsch end up meshing well with some genuinely scary moments and convincing make-up effects. HIGHLY derivative, but worth a watch.

Spooky and trippy (time warps!?) stuff that's sort of undone by some questionable editing choices (lots of freeze framing for no good reason) and downright annoying musical interludes. This follows watching the international cut of the movie (The Devil Within Her) ...or the only version available on non-obsolete formats ...also the most complete version. Though here I'd guess completeness doesn't necessarily equal greatness. I'd like to seek out the US edit which I understand corrects a lot of what ails this movie.

Surprisingly effective 70's demonic possession horror, in spite of ripping off bits from "The Exorcist" and "Rosemary's Baby". Somewhat nonsensical, as well, but still worth a viewing

So many parts of this movie are just some strung together scenes and sequences that make no sense, as the lead actor being pursued by some street musicians, one is playing a recorder using his nose, as the poor man tries to get away from these "demons????"

Okay, so while everything that happens in this film refuses to make sense I have to say that the movie was a helluva a fun watch, especially with the cheap-ass special effects that are employed throughout and the puzzlingly quirky characters. Wild, weird fun. Rental?
