Ryan M Okay, so I just finished watching 'Beyond the Lake,' and wow, I just had to drop a review! First off, the story is super engaging. It's all about Joseph Lakeman (played by David Socolar) and Allison June (Allison Elaine) – these two have some serious past issues to sort out, and the way their stories unfold is just so real. The characters? Super relatable. Like, they're not perfect, and that's what makes them so compelling. Joseph and Allison are the kind of people you might know in real life, with their own quirks and problems. It's refreshing to see characters on screen who aren't just cookie-cutter perfect. And the acting – top-notch! Everyone in this, right down to the smaller roles, just brings their A-game. It's like you can feel what they're going through, especially in those tense moments between Joseph and Allison. The flow of the story is smooth too. It doesn't feel rushed or draggy – just the right pace to keep you hooked. Domenic Porcari did an awesome job directing and writing this. And shoutout to the cinematography and music, which were just the cherry on top. They really set the mood and make the whole thing feel more alive. In a nutshell, 'Beyond the Lake' is one of those movies that sticks with you. It's not just about the plot – it's about how it makes you feel, and trust me, you'll feel a lot. If you're up for a movie that gets you right in the feels and makes you think about life, this is it. Totally worth the watch! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/24 Full Review Tammy V I paid $4.99 for this because the story looked good on paper. We turned the movie off 25 minutes in it was so bad. The acting is terrible and there are huge gaps in the story. It is too bad because if there would have been some more development on paper with this story/script and better execution with filming it, it could have been good. I not only want my refund for my $5, I want to be paid for the 25 minutes I'll never get back. I feel robbed. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review Read all reviews
