Critics Consensus

Lazily crafted and light on substance, The Big Bounce takes few chances and strands its promising cast in a subpar adaptation that fails to do its source material justice.

It's sexy, offbeat fun for the most part, but it's way too laid-back for its own good and, in the end, obstinately refuses to be anything more than the sum of its highly promising parts. Go to Full Review

The main flaw ... is that it never really seems to get going; like laid-back 'hero' Jack Ryan (Owen Wilson), the movie seems happy to drift along and just see what happens. Go to Full Review

Not a single laugh to be had, and a terrible script. See more 01/30/2016 Smart and funny. Some of Owen Wilson's best work. See more 09/21/2015 I can't believe I'm rating a movie with such talented actor/ess in it so low but this movie didn't utilize their talents IMO to their full potential. The attempt at a twist in the plot of the story was weak and too predictable. I enjoyed it but I believe it could've been better See more 07/23/2015 Maybe it's my larcenous heart and weakness for hot chicks in bikinis, but I liked this movie a lot more than most of the people posting reviews. How can you not like a domino game featuring Morgan Freeman, Harry Dean Stanton, and Willie Nelson? The plot meanders as pleasantly as a slack-key guitar recital with a pay-off as gentle as a trade breeze through palm trees. Mahalo. See more Read all reviews
