dave s Lana Turner had quite the resume. The Postman Always Rings Twice, The Bad and the Beautiful, Imitation of Life, The Big Cube…wait…The Big Cube? What the hell is The Big Cube? In a nutshell, it's a horrible film and a sad way to start winding down your career. Turner plays a kind stepmother who is being harassed by her stepdaughter and the stepdaughter's boyfriend in order to get a share of an inheritance. How is she being harassed? The two antagonists slip her LSD in an effort to either drive her mad or have her commit suicide. The special effects during the acid trips are laughable and the ‘actress' playing the stepdaughter (Karin Mossberg) gives one of the worst performances in the history of cinema. Other than Turner's valiant attempt to turn in a respectable performance, The Big Cube is an unmitigated disaster from beginning to end. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Great thriller and not just a psychological thriller but a LSD psychological thriller that exposes the evil side of the counter culture. I'm not opposed to controlled experiments with any drugs to explore and potentially cure Dementia or Alzheimers but to think that powerful mind altering drugs are going to help us in everyday life is why a left wing moron like Timothy Leary destroyed so many lives. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Karin Mossberg and her accent do not fit in with this movie! She's unbearable to watch, while poor Lana Turner tries her best in this movie! It's realllly bad! The movie is unbearable to watch!
