The World Freestyle Hairdressing Championship is soon to take place in Los Angeles and Crawford has received what he thinks is an invitation to compete for the Platinum Scissors Award. So, he heads west with a British documentary crew in tow. After arriving he finds that he was invited merely as a guest to observe the competition. The hairdresser will not be assuaged; in finest Scottish tradition, it's either place in the competition or go down cutting, moussing and blowing dry.

Critics Consensus

The Big Tease may be predictable, but the buoyant performances keep you laughing once you give in to the silliness.

Audience Member Accent was a bit too thick for my liking . Direct Scottish ripoff of best in show 2.1 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/10/22 Full Review Audience Member I reall enjoyed this mockumentary style flick. Some recognizable faces- quick and dry comedy. Also, nice footage of Los Angeles and the surrounding areas in the late 90s/early 2000s. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member if you like Craig Ferguson, you will love this movie Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Exactly not how to do a mockumentary. Just proves how hard it really is to perfect that style. A Scottish hair dresser is invited to a "hair-off" in LA as a guest, but he thinks he is to perform. No hilarity ensues, but a bunch of gayness does. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Wasn't that bad actually. You will probably enjoy lot of the jokes if you've been watching the Drew Carry Show or The Late Late Show. But I just don't see how they came up with this story though... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member doesn't get any better then this, its a hair movie with craig the scotsman Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
