Big wave guardians risk their lives to save others in the world's most dangerous waves while deploying innovative water safety techniques. Hawaii's North Shore is the world's most dangerous 7-mile stretch of beach. Massive swells, life-and-death rescues, and "the best job in the world" -- yet often the most hazardous one -- is the compelling drama of Hawaii's big wave guardians. As surfers push the limits and crowds increase, a small group of heroes have reinvented water safety on a parallel track to the rising dangers. Addicting thrills versus inherent peril -- they are caught up in both. Surfing's elite watermen risk their lives to save their friends while challenging a realm beyond.

terry b Far and away, the best surfing movie I've ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Mike W My 12 year old grand daughter and I had the opportunity to view it last night, at Oceanside film festival. We totally enjoyed it, as it not only had great surfers on bone crushing waves, but was filled with humor, history, and heartbreak. We came away with a new appreciation of the watermen that allow the surfers to throw caution to the wind, and take on big waves. The composition of this movie was extraordinarily awesome. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Sun & Sol Co. A Very few understand the in-depth training and pure grit and heart that go into life-saving in the conditions the guards battle on O'ahu and elsewhere. This paints the picture and makes the viewer yearn to learn more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
