      Released Jun 21, 2022 1h 31m Documentary List
Reviews Big wave guardians risk their lives to save others in the world's most dangerous waves while deploying innovative water safety techniques. Hawaii's North Shore is the world's most dangerous 7-mile stretch of beach. Massive swells, life-and-death rescues, and "the best job in the world" -- yet often the most hazardous one -- is the compelling drama of Hawaii's big wave guardians. terry b Far and away, the best surfing movie I've ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review Mike W My 12 year old grand daughter and I had the opportunity to view it last night, at Oceanside film festival. We totally enjoyed it, as it not only had great surfers on bone crushing waves, but was filled with humor, history, and heartbreak. We came away with a new appreciation of the watermen that allow the surfers to throw caution to the wind, and take on big waves. The composition of this movie was extraordinarily awesome. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Sun & Sol Co. A Very few understand the in-depth training and pure grit and heart that go into life-saving in the conditions the guards battle on O'ahu and elsewhere. This paints the picture and makes the viewer yearn to learn more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/11/23 Full Review Surfing U The film's production team features executive producers Greg and Shaun MacGillivray of MacGillivray Freeman Films, Scott Bradfield, along with Marty Hoffman. The movie is produced by Mark Collins, directed and edited by Luke Stirtz, and written by Jim Kempton. Director of photography is Chris Zamoscianyk, with second unit producer Daniel Russo, and archival producer Wyatt Daily. Unbelievable team of people who made this one of the Best Surf Films of the Year! Filmed on the North Shore which has the most deadliest waves in the world! It depicts how important the North Shore Water Patrol is and how the lifeguards put their lives in danger to save others. There is a lot of history about the North Shore which is located on the island of Oahu also referred to the as The7 Mile Miracle. Big+Wave Guardian's is an absolute MUST TO SEE!
