Jim S @js2727272727 Jul 21 Truly weird. Imaginative, great acting. You have to get into the zone. Don't expect a typical movie. I wish they made more like this. This is from the director of City of Lost Children, one of my favorite movies ever, and Amelie. This is a piece of art. Have patience, don't expect a Marvel movie. See more prosaic s May 6 This film has a lovely aesthetic, a compelling cast, and makes for a create abet subdued viewing. The word subdued is critical, for this film despite occasionally having pretences of action is definitely more concerned with its human elements (who are constructed and acted well, although occasionally clichéd). The plot of the film is initially intriguing due to the apparent helplessness of the protagonists and their resulting relatability to the audience, although this choice forces the movie into a dous ex machina to reconcile the power imbalances between robot and human. This leads the ending to feel rushed or anticlimactic as the actions of the character in the preceding fight mattered little. Overall, worth the watch. See more Michael K 01/22/2023 This is one of the most quirky yet highly enjoyable if not slightly creepy movies I've watched in a while. Great effects and a unique story with a bit of sci-fi, robot mutiny, and eclectic storytelling. Fantastic performances by the cast. A great soundtrack that's been well scored. I loved the creepy Yonx androids as they were super evil and very scary. Not everyone will enjoy it but man, this was cool to me. It's a French movie so I watched it with subtitles as the performances are better but there is an English dub that actually changes the way it feels especially the androids. Almost like watching a tweaked version of the original as it feels way more menacing. I highly recommend it if you like unique movies. It's way better than these reviews would have you think.
