Documentarian Tom Zubrycki sets out to film the everyday lives of the Etters, a Lebanese family that has immigrated to Australia. On a holiday weekend, the family is involved in a heated confrontation with the whites next door. The following day, Billal, the adolescent middle son of the Etter family, is crippled after being run over by a car driven by a young white man.
