Shows that even with indie cinema a film can be creative and intense. The low budget adds to the realism of the film and we see some great acting performances from Shar Dee and Nathan Hill. Go to Full Review

The core idea of this script isn’t bad, and in principle, I have nothing against erotic thrillers. But it needed a few serious passes to improve the structure, up the tension, and enhance the characterization. Go to Full Review

What makes the film so egregious is that, given the resources, something better should have come from this. Go to Full Review

There's a decent little thriller somewhere within Bitter Desire, though mostly sub-par production values and hit-and-miss performances keep the film from rising above mediocrity. Go to Full Review

The sound is good, with clear dialogue. The performances are perfunctory, but functional in that the actors hit their marks and say their lines. Go to Full Review

Malky K @thatgirlmalky Dec 7 *** Spoiler Alert*** Bitter Desire is a wild ride that combines erotic thrills with a touch of absurdity, and it's awesome to see Nathan Hill back in action. The film centres on a policeman named Steve, played by Nathan, who is recuperating at home, indulging in foot massages and taking naps, all while blissfully unaware that his nurse, Lexi, is the girlfriend of the criminal he just locked up - and the reason he’s bedridden. The suspense builds slowly, and at times the film feels like a surreal experience. It throws in enough over-the-top situations to make you question what you just watched, a real who's who of "Wait, did that just happen?" moments. Overall, it’s an enjoyable mix of drama, deceit, and passion, all interwoven with the charm we've come to expect from Hill, making it one of my guilty pleasures of the year. See more Read all reviews
