Audience Member I watched this just because of John Stride and I'm glad I did. Bitter Harvest is, indeed, a treat for whoever likes this guy - he is great as the knight in shining armor who tried to save the girl next door form, well, mainly herself. Sure, some people say this movie is corny and perfectly forgettable, but there is something about Jennie, Bob and pre-beatlemania London that makes you watch this more than once. It's not the plot perhaps, but maybe it's the feeling this movie leaves you with. I know it made me nostalgic and I truly feel sorry for not being born early enough to see Stride as Romeo with dame Judi Dench by his side, both young and very very beautiful.
