Alone with her dog and hapless one-eyed husband, a woman (Liya Ai) runs an isolated Chinese inn during World War II. One day two porters arrive, kill her spouse and take over the property. Violent "Big Brother" (Zhao Xiaorui) is determined to forcibly make the woman his, while his gentler companion, "Sixth Brother" (Yuan Xie), wins her over with kindness.
