Marjorie Baumgarten Austin Chronicle Jiggly camerawork meant to mimic that of the unseen documentarians, and mismatched lighting, perfunctory paintball action, and overlong dialogue riffs that make the film look more like a really lengthy skit than a fully finished movie. Rated: 2.5/5 May 6, 2006 Full Review Erin Meister Boston Globe ... succeeds as a modest tribute to the kind of aging boys club that idles for hours in somebody's parents' rumpus room, its members tossing around big-man talk but trapped in emotional adolescence. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 28, 2006 Full Review Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News It's a mildly amusing feature that takes a few too many potshots at some very broad targets. Rated: 2/4 Apr 14, 2006 Full Review Christopher Campbell Cinematical There isn't the same labored yet quotable wit ... that you'll find in some of the scripted satires, but part of the fun of improvisation is its spontaneous lack of polish. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 18, 2007 Full Review Christopher Null Filmcritic.com not enough to make Blackballed worth watching for more than a couple of giggles. Rated: 2/5 Jul 19, 2006 Full Review David Cornelius DVDTalk.com With so much comic talent all in one place, Blackballed becomes a dopey but lovable gigglefest. Audience Member I love paintball but I only like this movie. When Bobby Dukes wiped it broke my heart. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member There isn't a story arc for Bobby but there are jokes a plenty. I gained a new word: D-bag means Dude-bag. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member As a former paintball hobbyist I found this mocku-mentry pretty awesome. Even if your not in to paintball you'll dig it. Nothing to serious or deep, just a light comedy with some good laughs that will let you forgive any plot flaws. Rob Corddry shows some real depth here too for a change which I appreciated. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Umm, great cast, weird movie...documentary style. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a mediocre movie with many funny scenes and lines. Rob Cordrry (spelling) is hilarious. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie really falls into a category that it might not have had to be in, but I really didn't see how it could have gotten out of it. This is a comedy that is largely not funny. And sort of not exciting either until the tournament kicks in, and then it moves almost entirely away from comedy. I think this movie tried to follow the Christopher Guest style, but couldn't pull it off. And it brings in a lot more characters than it can juggle. It has a few good scenes and lines, but not enough. You can pass on this one. But just fine to watch to pass time if you have interest in...ahhhh, just pass.
