Variety Staff Variety A lightweight ensemble comedy in which ingenious plotting is let down by weak dialog and stop-go direction that largely squanders the talent involved. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Brian Case Time Out [A] leaden farce. Feb 9, 2006 Full Review Janet Maslin New York Times There's more method than inspired madness to "Blame It on the Bellboy," but this scenic, fast-paced farce by a first-time British director is still effervescent fun. May 20, 2003 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …a sickly confection that’s utterly poisonous to watch… Rated: 1/5 Nov 30, 2023 Full Review Malcolm Johnson Hartford Courant As it bounces unmerrily along, Blame It on the Bellboy is half-intriguing, but rarely humorous. Rev S Very nice comedy movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member In this film a bellboy's butchering of the English language leads three separate guests at an Italian hotel with similar names into various kinds of trouble. Dudley Moore, Bryan Brown, Richard Griffiths, Patsy Kensit and Bronson Pinchot star. This was pretty entertaining due to the very good cast. Makes me realize I could watch Patsy Kensit in anything. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review steve d Not remotely entertaining. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member first saw this as a kid when it was the midday movie. Fell in love with venice and the characters immediately. Love watching the triumph of dudley moore and brian brown's characters and watching the others get their comeuppance. 20 years later still my go-to rainy day or sick day movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazed at the lack of great reviews I found it a brilliant funny film! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member When I was 12, I really liked this movie. If I watched it again, I might drop one star.
