After his grandmother is killed in a Mafia hit, Darryl (Damon Wayans) fashions a bulletproof overcoat to wear over red long johns, becoming Blankman, a superhero without any superpowers save some inventive tinkering skills. When Blankman's crime-fighting crusade causes a sensation around the city of Metro, Darryl's brother Kevin (David Alan Grier) reluctantly agrees to become Blankman's sidekick, Other Guy, to impress local news anchor Kimberly (Robin Givens), but the mob is fighting back.

Blankman's use of the cheesy effects from the Batman TV show, including Polito trying to imitate The Penguin, was initially a good idea but the execution is simply horrible and this is what winds up ruining the film.

'Blankman' at least tried to create a space for the Black superhero, even if, cinematically, this film is a failure. There are probably young Black boys (and perhaps girls) that watched in the 90s and finally saw themselves reflected as a superhero.

Filme ruim, o roteiro é horrível, as cenas são ruins, a história é fraca pra caralho, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são ruins, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom, e eu não recomendo esse porra de filme.

Blankman is a silly Wayans comedy, but at its core it has heart and moments of great acting. I remember me, my brother, and sister finding this because we loved In Living Color. I remember watching it with them as a kid. Now everytime I see it, it reminds me of them. Is it an Oscar winner? No. But it will always hold a special place in my heart. That's good enough for me.
