Audience Member This film reminds me of the series Kindred: The Embraced (a vampiric Dynasty), and stars Patrick Bauchau from Kindred as one of the heads of the Carpathian American clan of vampires. They've evolved and melded into modern society... they can walk in daylight and control their need to feed, but when a group of hunters start killing them off they get to go a bit crazy. It had all the makings of a good 80's vamp flick, they even had their own bad boys riding motorbikes, reminiscent of The Lost Boys, unfortunately they didn't quite pull it off. The storyline ambles along at a slow pace, there's not a great deal of action, fangs or blood, and the vampires don't really have much in the way of special powers... they can jump a bit and have about 30% more strength than a human, but so could I if I went to the gym more regularly! Okay to watch once, but that's about it. Never happend. "Carpathian Americans" are vampires but not in the classic sense. They walk around in the daylight for instance. The film seems to view the vampire as less than the usual "undead" and more as some kind of mutant off-shoot of humanity with a prediliction for drinking human blood. The very hot Michelle Johnson stars as one of the Carpathian-Americans. She did a lot of movies and TV work in the late 1980s and early 1990s but now is in the "where are they now?" file. Bo Hopkins plays the leader of a band of redneck Vampire hunters, the Southern Coalition Against Vampires (SCAV).
