Jas Keimig The Stranger (Seattle, WA) Blood Beach dares to ask the question: What if the sea-with its strong tides and violent creatures-wasn't the scariest part of the beach? Jan 31, 2022 Full Review Zena Dixon Real Queen of Horror I, personally, wanted more from it or at least for the film to have a scarier, vicious looking monster and not one that looked like it belonged in a green house. Jamie P Excellent low budget horror film for 1981, I always remembered those death scenes when the beach was killing people Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/06/24 Full Review Higgins ! Golly. This one was a tough watch. Definitely a grindhouse movie of its time, but not one of the better ones. It takes place in Santa Monica, but by the way it's filmed, none of its beauty is shown on screen. Too dark to see for much of its runtime and both the cinematography and editing were awful (and not in an endearing 80s horror film at the drive-in sort of way). The monster reveal was a let-down as well. For a horror movie there wasn't a single scare. All in all, this was RiffTrax parody level bad. If I had to stretch for any silver lining it's that John Saxon and Burt Young were in this picture, but for the life of me, I don't know why. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/17/23 Full Review Steve D Surprisingly well made and effective for this kind of thing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Very entertaining, the movie has a lot of humor and builds the suspense well to a fitting climax. It's one of those old-school slow paced stories that engages your imagination. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member While Blood Beach may be campy, it's a good movie. I've watched it several times. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review scott d 80's horror film at it's best. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews
