Tony S Embarrassing. Made on what I can only assume to be a nano-budget. It tries to be some kind of edgy Face Off "rip off" with a doodle of Kumite somewhere in the end. It fails at everything. I don't know how much it cost to film in Bulgaria. But what will completely stand out to anyone who is watching is that the movie can't sell a single location. The police station looks like the back of a hospital floor. The prison's "fighting club" looks like a school gym or swimming pool. Nothing seems right, even when you consider that it's supposed to be an actual prison with actual convicts as extras. The insistence of the movie on how gritty it is supposed to be is just laughable. Case in point would be literally every scene with Caesar. Some James Bond villain presentation and none of the budget. Just make skimpy-dressed women look or do something completely elaborate. Yes, that's sinister. The cinematographer tries to mask it, sometimes doing really odd shots, but it just adds to the awfulness of it because no matter what you do, you can't compensate for the budget that reduced Kumite to 20 people standing on a balcony watching nobodies awkwardly kick Daniel Bernhardt, who isn't even the same character. I guess they knew better than to try to pretend it was Cardo. Bernhardt said it best himself. The only good thing that came out of this production is that he met his wife there. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/12/22 Full Review Audience Member Pretty awful Eastern European production continuing the Bloodsport franchise that's strayed quite far from the original film. This one starts with a conventional martial arts film plot of a cop being sent to prison trying to avenge his partner's death, where he has to fight in the ring. The story takes a bizarre turn when with the prisoners tied to hospital beds and flanked by lingerie wearing ladies guarding them. This film is really embarrassingly bad and not even all that enjoyable on a so-bad-it's-good level of entertainment. Don't bother with this one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This is pretty much the best movie I ever seen. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Utter rubbish, how did they get them so wrong after the first 2!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Horrible, pointless and poorly constructed action film has no redeeming factor whatsoever. Thankfully this is the last Bloodsport film, and I never understood why they made these dreadful sequels in the first place. These are truly horrible, low grade filmmaking that doesn't deliver anything remarkable to the viewer. You're left wanting more, and wishing that you didn't waste your time on such trash. With a poor cast of talentless actors who don't know how to act and a bad director to boot, this film really doesn't work, and it is a pitiful attempt at concluding a series that never should have happened n the first place. I mean the first Bloodsport didn't need any sequels whatsoever. Yet again, studio executives are wanting to cash in on the original, and want to make a quick buck, no matter how awfully painful the film is. There is no aspect of the film that is interesting. Every fight scene is horribly constructed, the acting is very bad and the plot is ultimately uninteresting. There's nothing here to appeal to fans of the first film, and it's a good thing because this was purely made for money with no concern in telling a compelling and engaging story. Bloodsport: The Dark Kumite is a stupid film that never should have seen the light of day, and if you enjoyed the first, definitely pass up on this one. This is not worth your time. Stick with the original, you'll be glad you did and like I stated before, this is the final film in the Bloodsport franchise, and it's no secret as to why they stopped making them. With each entry, everything got worse. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
