Michelle Kisner The Movie Sleuth The killer reveal can be seen from space and the characters are so underdeveloped and idiotic that you end up rooting for the killer to take them out. Rated: 2/10 Nov 19, 2018 Full Review Andrew Pollard Starburst Has some good moments, particularly in its final third, plus a stylish, twisted killer at its core, but the film comes across as rushed and as if the writers just ran out of ideas for its finale, which is a massive shame. Rated: 5/10 Apr 12, 2018 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed I'd love to think of "Blood Widow" as an homage to eighties slashers, but eighties slashers had at least some semblance of a narrative. Audience Member It's not a deep movie with a compelling narrative or anything like that it's just meant to be a entertaining slasher. There isn't really any plot twists or anything but the film has good gore and was pretty entertaining. At this time they are making a sequel which I actually want to see. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Someday, I'd like to make the movie that the poster for Blood Widow promises me, a movie in which a female killing machine that looks kind of like a ninja waits in the woods to kill twentysomething teenagers. I realize that that's what happens in this movie, but the poster is a near-infinite integer of percentages better than the actual movie, which is numbing in its shot on digital video dullness. This movie was directed by Jeremiah Buckhalt only a month after graduating from Full Sail University and he made it with the help of his fellow classmates and the faculty. So now I am going to feel bad for making fun of this movie and should stop now. There's another movie planned called Blood Widow Lives that I feel like my OCD will make me watch when it comes out. This one has a feel good story behind it and now I feel like I shouldn't say how out and out fecund it is, so maybe I'll either save my sadness for the next installment or feel better that it's an improved movie. The poster and the costume are still awesome, though. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Slasher movie 80's style with a good music, plain story, below regular acting... the best of the movie? Good deaths gore style where you cheer the killer!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a shame that the downfalls of Blood Widow are so severe and frequent, because there's actually quite a bit I really liked about it. I mean it might have been nice if those things occurred in places other than the final ten minutes, but still, points either way. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member http://letterboxd.com/zbender/film/blood-widow/ There was a time a couple of years ago in which I thought I wanted to try and make YouTube movie reviews. I remember a particular film that always had stuck in my head as the worst horror movie ever. Yet, I never knew the title of the film. Until today. Ladies and gentlemen the worst horror movie I've seen in the 21 years of my existence is Blood Widow. Some may think, "but Zack this is just a redbox shit film that obviously went straight to DVD." I think the fact that this vehement shit stain has resonated in my head ever since 2014 without a name to give to it is just terrible in its own right. I'm amazed with my brain, seriously. I had a passionate hate for this that lasted over a year. I searched IMDB pages high and low, I knew "bloody" was in the title. And today after I got out of class an email notification about letterboxd user Hollie Horror making a comment on a list just kicked my horror brain to dig into a repressed death memory. I look for "Buddha statue kill." Found this. The movie poster staring at me brought my blood to a boil. Fuck this film! From what I've remembered it was just so fucking terrible. The stereotypical characters I could not even see as being satirical. This is like the slasher film everyone would make if they were trying to make fun of slasher films, except you took this project seriously. There are some great movies that just have slipped my mind, but this, this has plagued my mind. This is some weird testament I've laid out. It's amazing what the brain is capable of bringing back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Bad lighting, bad script, nonexistent plot or acting. Gives all other student films a bad name. Still, killer is creepy, deadly and sexy enough to earn herself two stars. Would like to see what she can do in a proper film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
