Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting Offers an oddball killer, technical merit and, above all, some sleazy entertainment value. Rated: 3/5 Mar 28, 2024 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending Deeply misguided and dysfunctional, trying much too hard to go beyond the banalities of formula and screwing it up every time. Audience Member A rather late entry in the 80s slasher canon, this Australian film is a silly, stupid, and predictable example of the genre that never really features any surprises, scares, or disturbing death scenes. Instead, it is a idiotically straightforward slasher film that features some laughs along the way but little else for fans of the genre. Bloodmoon might be good for an MST3K-style screening, but it is good for little else. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Dull late 80s Aussie slasher. Don't waste your time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Mostly a typical slasher-horror, ie predictable, lame, but has its moments. Some degree of originality, and acting, while not that convincing, is fresh and vibrant. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is the funniest moment in Australian cinema history! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Bloodmoon is Australian film and one of the last of the Slasher films to come out of the 80's (though America didn't get this film until 1990, but that doesn't count). The film is about promiscuous Catholic school girls who wind up getting killed along with their boy toys at the hands of an unknown lunatic with barb-wire and a knife. Depending on what synopsis you read, the killer is spoiled for you right away, but it's not too big of a deal as he is revealed at the halfway point of the film. It's up to a lone cop to figure out who the killer is before our two cute leads get killed. There's a decent body count and blood, though most of the kills aren't that inventive. There's also a fair amount of Australian titties, some fairly big too. The acting is fair, and for the most part, the story is decent, though I would trim some off as the 104 minute running time seemed to be a tad too long, especially with several too-elongated scenes. Not a bad film at all. The school dance with the hair band scene was priceless and worth the cost of rental alone. Heavily dated film, but fun. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member ok slasher from australia. a little predictable but worth watching. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
