Bloodsucking Cinema takes a look at the origins of the vampire myth, its evolution and its entry into cinema's storytelling lexicon, focusing on the endurance of the theme as well as the advances made in the execution of its telling -- primarily in the last twenty years of Hollywood movie history. Linking past and present, Bloodsucking Cinema asks the questions: how and why did our fascination with vampires develop? Through interviews, movie clips and narration, current filmmakers and stars of vampire movies such as Van Helsing, Blade and Underworld compare their interpretations of the vampire with classic vampire roles -- like those created by Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee and others.

Mike Massie Gone With The Twins A brief, flashy look at the bloodthirsty masters of the night, but its viewership is clearly limited to existing fans of such productions. Rated: 7/10 Nov 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

michael p Whether you are a diehard or novice about vampire movies this video will help you with your journey. Lots of info here. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/17/22 Full Review Heather M This provides an informative look into the vampire's history in the film industry. There are a lot of great influences from the past that have lead to today's Hollywood cliche vampires. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/30/11 Full Review Greg S This was fine, but didn't delve deep enough. It was a glossing-over of major studio releases. They didn't even mention Near Dark! Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/10 Full Review Drew H Clips from the same movies get repetitive, but this isn't a terrible documentary about Vampire movies. Decent interviews with big names make it interesting enough at times, but there is no real insight from anyone. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/10 Full Review Joshua P Sort of a train of unsuccessful and c-list vampire celebrates taking about Vampires in the dumbest ways possible. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/10 Full Review Seth P eh, this was an alright documentary, but it was too short and only covered a little bit of the films Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/10 Full Review Read all reviews
