Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It's like watching an animated football match that has been put together on a cocktail of speed and mushrooms and then being mashed about the head by the original manga. It is intense, breathless stuff... Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Phil Hoad Guardian The film becomes a taxing blur of goalmouth sallies and nondescript players incredulously intoning the latest manoeuvre: “Rabona!” Rated: 2/5 Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Abhishek Srivastava The Times of India This film is a letdown for even hardcore Blue Lock’ manga fans. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 30, 2024 Full Review Ayaan Paul Chowdhury The Hindu The spin-off film is a clever recontextualization that deepens Nagi’s character while reaffirming the show’s central themes of ambition, rivalry, and the unabashedly self-serving grab for glory. Aug 30, 2024 Full Review Ricardo Gallegos La Estatuilla Episode Nagi is a solid friendship story that allows us to delve deeper and even fall in love with a great supporting character [Full Review in Spanish] Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Charles Solomon FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I guess if you like soccer a lot, you'll have a good time with it. Shav'ae Loved everything. Blue Lock is awesome 💙✨ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/24 Full Review Kelly The movie was fine. It was just Nagi version of how he started playing soccer. So some of the things were stuff we say on the TV show. I was expected it to be about Nagi playing Japan team but it wasn't. Over all it was okay Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/04/24 Full Review Lukas Really nicely animated. Told the story nicely from Nagi’s perspective. Bummed they cut a lot of scenes from the manga Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/04/24 Full Review Aly The movie is really good but it’s basically a recap but more depth prior to the new season coming out soon. It was a bit underwhelming but had some great storyline points. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/03/24 Full Review Connie Didn’t watch the anime but the movie is easy to follow the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/03/24 Full Review Jay S. Huge waste of time for people that have already seen Season 1. With a name like Episode Nagi, you would expect a deep dive on Nagi as a character, but what we got instead was a quick 15 minute intro to Nagi and Reo meeting before just going through all of season 1 again just from Nagi's perspective. The animation wasn't even movie level like it was for the recent Haikyu movie. Huge bummer. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
